Selected in the second round of the 2020 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers out of Elizabethton (Tenn.) High School... Evan Jason Carter… he and wife Kaylen were married on 12/17/22… was a four-year letterwinner at Elizabethton (Tenn.) High School as both an outfielder and pitcher… as a junior in 2019, was named Super 22 Player of the Year, conference Pitcher of the Year, and earned first team All-State honors… hit .324 with 4 HR and 27 RBI that season while going 10-2 with a 1.34 ERA and six complete games on the mound, helping his team to a state tournament appearance… originally committed to Duke University… also played football at Elizabethton for coach Shawn Witten, the brother of fellow Elizabethton alum and former Dallas Cowboy Jason Witten.

2023

Made his Major League debut on Sept. 8, 2023 with Texas... hit .306 in 62 at-bats with the Rangers, adding five homers and 12 RBIs... in the Minors, he saw action with the ACL Rangers, Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock, appearing in 108 MiLB games

2022

Garnered Tom Grieve Player of the Year honors after batting .295/.397/.489/.885 (108-376) with career highs in home runs (12), triples (10), doubles (21), RBI (73), runs (86) and stolen bases (28) over 106 games between Hickory (A+) and Frisco (AA)...at 19 years old, opened the campaign as the youngest player in the South Atlantic League...finished as one of eight minor league players to post 10+ HR, 10+ 3B, 20+ 2B, and 25+ SB...ranked among qualified Texas farmhands in OPS (1st), triples (1st), OBP (2nd), runs (2nd), RBI (3rd), walks (6th, 64), and steals (7th)...slashed .287/.388/.476/.864 (108-376) with 11 HR and 66 RBI in 100 G with Hickory before earning a late-season promotion to Frisco, where he went 9-for-21 (.429) over 6 G to close the season...saw action at all 3 outfield positions, but started primarily in CF (74-CF, 7-LF, 5-RF)…selected as winner of a 2022 Rawlings Minor League Gold Glove award in the outfield and rated as the ‘Best Defensive Outfielder’ in the Rangers organization according to Baseball America...was on IL from 8/27-9/3 (left knee bone bruise)...was recognized by Baseball America as the Texas Rangers Minor League Player of the Year, and as a SAL postseason and Organizational All-Star by MiLB.com.
