Ducks OF Alex Call named EL Player of the Week, June 24-30
Akron RubberDucks outfielder Alex Call has been selected as the Eastern League Player of the Week for the period of June 24th-June 30th. The 24-year old batted .313 (10-for-32) with one double, one triple, three home runs, eight RBIs, four runs scored, and a .688 slugging percentage in seven games

Call, who is a native of Burnsville, Minnesota, had at least one hit in six of the seven games he played in last week and had multiple hits in two of those games, including a pair of three hit performances on June 27th at Akron and on June 30th at Bowie. He also ended the week by homering in back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday at Bowie.
The 6'0", 188 lb. slugger led all Eastern League hitters in total bases (22) last week and tied for the league lead in home runs (3) and RBIs (8). He also finished ranked among the weekly league leaders in slugging percentage (.688-3rd), triples (1-tied 3rd), hits (10-5th), and OPS (1.001-tied 9th).
Alex, who is hitting .257 with four homers and 14 RBIs in 27 games with the RubberDucks this season, was acquired by the Cleveland Indians in a trade with the Chicago White Sox on December 15, 2018. He was originally drafted by the White Sox in the third round of the 2016 draft out of Ball State University.
