Andre Jernigan joins Kernels from Elizabethton

The Twins selected Jernigan in the 14th round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Xavier University. He played 36 games at Elizabethton in 2016, batting .243 with 2 HR and 15 RBI.
Wells made 11 starts for the Kernels this season, posting a 4-2 record and 2.21 ERA. In 61 IP, he allowed 45 hits and 17 runs (15 earned) with 16 walks and 82 strikeouts. He was selected by the Twins in the 15th round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Cal State San Bernardino.
Jernigan is active and available for tonight's 6:35 PM game vs. Burlington. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster remains at the Midwest League maximum of 25 active players, with four players currently on the DL.
The Kernels wrap up a four game home series with the Burlington Bees tonight at 6:35 PM with the gates opening at 5:30 PM. They travel to Clinton on a four game commuter series, June 30-July 3, and return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, July 4th.
