Rengifo, 21, was acquired by the Angels on March 20, 2018 as the player to be named later in a trade that sent first baseman
The Naguanagua, Venezuela native was originally signed by the Mariners as an international free agent in 2014. Rengifo was traded to Tampa Bay on August 6, 2017 and split time between Clinton and Bowling Green in the Class A Midwest League last year. The switch-hitter had a .250 average with 12 home runs, 52 RBIs, 27 doubles, five triples, and 34 stolen bases combined between the two teams.
Rengifo is currently the No. 28 prospect in the Angels organization, according to MLB Pipeline.
