Domenick Carlini joins Kernels from Extended Spring Training

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that LHP Domenick Carlini will join the Kernels from Extended Spring Training and RHP Brady Anderson has been promoted to Fort Myers (FSL). Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
The Twins selected Carlini in the 21st round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Southeastern Louisiana University. He spent the 2016 season at Elizabethton where he posted a 1-7 record and 4.83 ERA with one save in 12 games (eight starts). In 50.1 IP, he allowed 63 hits and 32 runs (27 earned) with 10 walks, 41 strikeouts and 7 wild pitches.
Anderson pitched in two games for the Kernels this season, posting an 0-1 record, 1.42 ERA and one save. In 6.1 IP, he allowed a run on four hits, walked one and struck out four.
Carlini is active and available for tonight's 6:35 PM game with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster remains at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with three players currently on the DL.
The Kernels begin a three game home series tonight at 6:35 PM against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Midwest League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Gates open at 5:30 PM and the current home stand continues through Saturday, April 15th.
