Winging It<o:p>
In his first home start at Canal Park since the end of April, Michael Peoples held the Baysox lineup in check to pick up his second win this season at Double-A. Peoples worked six innings, giving up one run on five hits, striking out three. Peoples began the season with Akron before spending close to two months with Triple-A Columbus where he went 1-4 in seven starts. D.J. Brown started Game 2 for the Ducks, working four innings giving up three earned runs on five hits. Lefty reliever Alsis Herrera made his Double-A debut striking out the side in the fifth inning. Herrera ran into trouble in the seventh yielding five straight hits that led to two key insurance runs for Bowie. Bowie's Game 2 starter David Hess struck out five, giving up two runs over six innings to earn his eighth win of the season.<o:p>
Duck Tales<o:p>
Francisco Mejía went 2-4 and drove in one run to lead Akron hitters in Game 1. Of the six runs scored all six RBI were credited to six different RubberDuck hitters. Eight of the nine Akron batters recorded a hit in Game 1. The Ducks' offense blew the game open late by scoring three runs in the sixth of the shortened seven inning game. Four consecutive hits by Paulino, Sever, Mathias and Hankins plated the three runs, giving reliever Cameron Hill a five run cushion in the seventh in which he threw a scoreless inning.<o:p>
