The Twins signed Sanders as a non-drafted free agent on March 7, 2017 out of the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith. This is his first professional assignment. In 2016 at UAFS, he made 13 starts, posting an 8-4 record and 3.24 ERA. In 75 IP, he allowed 63 hits and 31 runs (27 earned) with 57 walks and 59 strikeouts.
Sanders is active and available for tonight's 6:35 PM game with the Burlington Bees. With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at the Midwest League maximum of 25 active players, with three players currently on the DL.
The Kernels continue a four-game home stand tonight at 6:35 PM against the Burlington Bees with the gates opening at 5:30 PM. The current home stand continues through Monday, June 12th.
