Former BayBear Jose Suarez to be recalled by Angels

Suarez, 21, made seven starts with the BayBears last season after opening the year with Class A Advanced Inland Empire. He went 2-1 with a 3.03 ERA and 51 strikeouts over 29 2/3 innings pitched in the Southern League. Suarez fanned a career-high 11 batters in each of his last two starts with Mobile.
The Venezuelan southpaw is in his fifth professional season after signing with the Angels as an international free agent on July 3, 2014. In 22 games, 21 starts, with Salt Lake over the past two seasons, Suarez posted a 3-4 record with a 4.35 ERA and struck out 93 batters in 101 1/3 innings.
Suarez was named an MiLB.com Angels Organization All-Star in 2017 and 2018. He is currently the Angels No. 2 pitching prospect, and he is ranked No. 5 overall in the organization, according to MLB Pipeline.
Suarez is set to become the 16th player to make his Major League debut for the Angels after spending time with the BayBears. He will be the 12th player from the 2018 BayBears team to appear in a Major League game. Former BayBears infielder
