Francisco Arcia makes history in Major League debut

Arcia, 28, played in 32 games with the BayBears over the past two seasons. He committed just two errors in 193 total chances and threw out 6-of-16 runners attempting to steal. Arcia previously played in 75 additional Southern League game with Jacksonville in 2016, and he was originally a member of the Yankees organization from 2007 to 2015.
In 584 career Minor League games, Arcia had a .244 batting average with 25 home runs and 220 RBIs. He had a career .989 fielding percentage with 174 runners caught stealing in 638 attempts. Following a promotion to Salt Lake on May 20, he posted a .283 average with three home runs and 26 RBIs in 42 games. The Angels selected Arcia's contract Thursday to fill the spot of catcher Martin Maldonado, who was traded to the Houston Astros.
Arcia is the ninth player from the 2017 BayBears and the third member of the 2018 Mobile squad to appear with the Angels this season. Infielder
