Jean Carlos Arias joins Kernels from Extended Spring

The Twins signed Arias as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2014 and this is his fourth season in the Twins Organization. With the GCL Twins last year, he hit .298 (50-168) with 5 HR and 32 RBI in 48 games. He is a native of Licey, Santiago, DR.
Contreras has played in seven games for the Kernels this season, batting a MWL league-leading .440 (11-25) with three doubles and 5 RBI. He was selected by the Twins in the 9th round of the 2017 First Year Player Draft out of UC-Riverside.
Arias is active and available for tonight's 6:35 PM game with Burlington. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster remains at 24 active players, one below the MWL maximum of 25, with three players currently on the DL, one player on the suspended list and one player on the military leave list.
The Kernels continue a seven-game home stand tonight against the Burlington Bees at 6:35 PM with the gates opening at 5:30 PM. The current home stand continues through Thursday, April 26th.
