Jordan Balazovic and Robert Molina join Kernels from Elizabethton

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that RHP Jordan Balazovic and C Robert Molina have joined the Kernels roster from Elizabethton and C Ben Rortvedt has been promoted to Fort Myers. Brian Maloney, Twins Senior Manager of Minor League Operations, announced the move.
Balazovic made one relief appearance for the Kernels before being assigned to Elizabethton on May 31st, walking three and striking out five over 3.2 IP. He was selected by the Twins in the 5th round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of St. Martin Secondary School in Ontario, Canada.
The Twins signed Molina as a non-drafted free agent on July 3, 2013 and he has played in four games at Fort Myers this season. He has a .206 average with 3 HR and 43 RBI in four professional seasons.
Rortvedt was a member of the Kernels 2018 Opening Day Roster and in 39 games he was batting .276 with a HR and 16 RBI. He was selected by the Twins in the second round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Verona Area HS in Wisconsin.

Balazovic and Molina are active and available for tonight's 7:05 PM game at Wisconsin. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25, with four players currently on the DL.
The Kernels begin an eight-game road trip tonight at 7:05 PM in Wisconsin. They return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Friday, June 15th.
