Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that RHP Kai-Wei Teng has been traded to the San Francisco Giants as part of a deal for RHP Sam Dyson; RHP Carlos Suniaga has been placed on the 7-day injured list, retroactive to July 30th, with a right forearm strain; and RHP Josh Winder has been placed on the 7-day injured list, retroactive to July 30th, with a right hamstring strain. Brian Maloney, Senior Manager of Minor League Operations, announced the moves.
Teng appeared in nine games for the Kernels (eight starts) posting a 4-0 record and 1.60 ERA. In 50.2 IP, he allowed 40 hits and 16 runs (9 earned) with 14 walks and 49 strikeouts. He was signed by the Twins as a non-drafted free agent on October 20, 2017.
Suniaga was activated from the injured list on July 26th. He has made 28 relief appearances this season for the Kernels, posting a 3-2 record, 5.18 ERA and two saves. In 41.2 IP, he allowed 46 hits and 28 runs (24 earned) with 12 walks and 51 strikeouts. He was signed by the Twins as a non-drafted free agent on November 18, 2014.
Winder has made 16 starts for the Kernels this season, posting a 6-2 record, 2.97 ERA and two complete games. In 100 IP, he's allowed 73 hits and 34 runs (33 earned) with 24 walks and 90 strikeouts. He was selected by the Twins in the 7th round of the 2018 First Year Player Draft out of VMI.

Corresponding moves were not announced by the Twins. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at 22 active players, three below the MWL maximum of 25, with five players currently on the injured list.
The Kernels are in the midst of a four-game road trip at Beloit that continues tonight at 6:30 PM. They return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday, August 3rd and open at four-game homestand against Burlington.
