Kyle Schmidt joins Kernels from Elizabethton

The Twins selected Schmidt in the 33rd round of the 2019 First Year Player Draft out of Richmond University. He has split this season between the GCL Twins and Elizabethton, batting a combined .229 (11-48) with two doubles and 9 RBI and 14 games.
Isola has played in 18 games for the Kernels, batting .268 (15-56) with 2 HR and 9 RBI. He was selected by the Twins in the 29th round of the 2019 First Year Player Draft out of TCU.
Schmidt is active and available for tonight's 6:30 PM game at Kane County. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster remains at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with five players currently on the injured list.
The Kernels are in the midst of a three-game road trip at Kane County. They return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday, August 10th to open at three-game series with the Beloit Snappers.
