Rengifo, 21, led all Southern League hitters during this span with 27 runs scored, 33 hits, and a .470 on-base percentage. The switch-hitting Venezuelan also tied for the league lead in walks (17) and stolen bases (10) while serving as the BayBears primary leadoff hitter. Rengifo reached base safely in 21 of 25 games for Mobile, who finished this past month with a 16-10 record overall.
Listed at 5'10" and 165 pounds, Rengifo posted the highest batting average (.351) and the second highest OPS (1.001) among Southern League players with more than 100 plate appearances. He ranked among the league's best in a number of offensive categories including total bases (50, 3rd), triples (2, T-4th), doubles (7, T-6th), extra-base hits (11, T-7th), and slugging percentage (.532, 7th).
The Los Angeles Angels no. 27 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, Rengifo has combined to hit .331/.438/.496 through 74 games this season split between Mobile and Hi-A Inland Empire. He ranks among Minor League Baseball's leaders in runs scored (69, 2nd) and stolen bases (33, T-3rd) this year.

Originally signed by Seattle Mariners in 2014, Rengifo made his MiLB debut during the 2016 season. He was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays organization in August 2017 before being shipped to the Los Angeles Angels earlier this year in exchange for first baseman CJ Cron.
