Moises Gomez joins Kernels from Elizabethton

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that RHP Moises Gomez will join the Kernels roster from Elizabethton. Brian Maloney, Twins Senior Manager of Minor League Operations, announced the move.
Gomez has two previous stints with the Kernels this season, the most recent ending on May 28th when he was assigned to Elizabethton. In nine relief appearances, he has an 0-1 record and 4.96 ERA with one save. In 16.1 IP, he allowed 16 hits and 11 runs (nine earned) with nine walks and 13 strikeouts. He was signed by the Twins as a non-drafted free agent on April 9, 2014.
Gomez is active and available for tonight's 7:00 PM game at Peoria. With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with four players currently on the DL.

The Kernels continue a three-game series in Peoria tonight at 7:00 PM. They return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday, August 4th to host Beloit at 6:35 PM.
