LANSING, Mich. - The Midwest League has named Lansing Lugnuts infielder Jesus Navarro the league's Player of the Week for August 6-12, the sixth time this year that a Nut has been honored by the Midwest League.

Navarro, 20, batted .650 in six games, collecting 13 hits in 20 at-bats with two walks, four doubles, three RBIs and seven runs scored. In the process, the native of San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, raised his batting average from .216 to .282.

Lugnuts pitcher Yennsy Diaz was previously honored as the Midwest League's April Player of the Month, and shortstop Kevin Smith and first baseman/outfielder Ryan Noda were each twice named MWL Player of the Week.
