LANSING, Mich. - Lansing Lugnuts first baseman David Jacob was honored as the Midwest League's Player of the Week for the final week of the 2017 regular season, August 28 - September 4.

The 22-year-old Jacob, drafted by Toronto in the 32nd round in 2016 from Quincy University, played the last three weeks of the season with the Lugnuts, batting .288 with three homers and 14 RBIs in 18 games.

In his final seven games of the year, Jacob earned the honor by collecting 11 hits in 27 at-bats for a .407 average, with one double, two home runs, a .484 on-base percentage, and a .667 slugging percentage

He becomes the second Lugnut to receive a weekly award from the MWL, joining Edward Olivares (July 3-9). In addition, Bradley Jones and Bo Bichette were each honored with a monthly league award, with Jones named the MWL April Player of the Month and Bichette - the 2017 Midwest League Most Valuable Player and Prospect of the Year - named the league's June Player of the Month.

Both Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. were named among Baseball America's five finalists for the 2017 Minor League Baseball Player of the Year.
