Paredes, Klonowski promoted to Triple-A Salt Lake

Paredes, 22, made nine relief appearances with the BayBears in April and allowed two runs in 12 2/3 innings pitched. He recorded one save, struck out 17 batters, and only walked four. Paredes is the No. 17 prospect in the Angels organization, according to MLB Pipeline.
The Valera, Venezuela native signed with the Angels as an international free agent on March 12, 2012. Despite being the youngest player on the BayBears roster, Paredes was the longest-tenured member of the Angels organization. He pitched in a total of 44 Double-A games combined between Mobile last month and Arkansas in 2016. Paredes led the Travelers with eight saves in 35 outings.
The Angels added Paredes to the 40-man roster this past offseason on November 18, 2016. In five Major League Spring Training games this year, he pitched four scoreless innings and gave up just one hit.
Klonowski, 25, made two starts and two relief appearances with the BayBears to begin the season. He posted a 1-1 record with a 2.35 ERA with one save. In 15 1/3 innings pitched, he gave up four runs on 10 hits, struck out 11 batters, and held opponents to a .175 average.
The Kansas City, Mo., native was selected by the Angels in the 29th round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft out of Northern Illinois University. Klonowski made five starts with Arkansas to finish the 2016 season, going 1-3 with a 5.31 ERA.
This is the first time Paredes and Klonowski have been promoted to Triple-A in their Minor League careers. They join fellow 2017 BayBears
