Riley Unroe receives first promotion to Triple-A

Unroe, 23, hit .221 with 14 extra-base hits, 34 RBIs, six stolen bases, and 40 runs scored in 94 games. He was also tied for the team-lead with 43 walks. Unroe was a member of the BayBears Opening Day roster.
Unroe was acquired by the Angels on December 14, 2017 in the minor-league portion of the Rule 5 Draft. He was originally selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the second round of the 2013 MLB Draft out of Desert Ridge High School in Mesa, Ariz. Unroe played in 75 Southern League games with the Montgomery Biscuits in 2017. This is his first promotion to Triple-A.
Rojas, 25, is returning to Salt Lake after playing in four games with the Bees in June. The Anaheim, Calif., native led the BayBears with 17 home runs and 65 RBIs. Rojas led the Southern League with a .554 slugging percentage, and he was third among qualifiers with a .304 batting average.
The BayBears begin a six-game road series against the Biloxi Shuckers with a doubleheader Tuesday beginning at 5:35 p.m. CDT.
