Roman named Intimidators 6th All-Star
KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (June 13, 2017) -- Infielder Mitch Roman has been named to the 58th Annual South Atlantic League All-Star Game, becoming the sixth member of the Kannapolis Intimidators to be selected to the circuit's mid-summer classic. KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (June 13, 2017) -- Infielder
Roman, 22, is batting .276 (64-232) with seven doubles, one triple, one home run, 16 RBI, and 24 runs scored in 59 games through June 12. He enters the final week of the First Half ranking fifth in the league in both games played (59) and at-bats (232). The White Sox 12th round pick from the June 2016 First-Year Player Draft, Roman has punished left-handed pitching this season, batting .329 (23-70) against southpaws compared to .253 (41-162) against right-handers. He began the season as one of the South Atlantic League's top hitters, batting .350 (28-80) in 22 games in April.
