MOBILE, Ala. (May 25, 2018) - The Los Angeles Angels announced Friday that right-handed pitcher Ryan Clark has been promoted from the Double-A Mobile BayBears to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Clark, 24, made 11 relief appearances with the BayBears after starting the season with Class A Advanced Inland Empire. He had a 1-2 record, three saves, and allowed just five runs on 14 hits over 15 1/3 innings with eight walks and 21 strikeouts. Clark completed both of Mobile's combined no-hitters on April 28 at Montgomery and May 14 against Birmingham.
In five outings with the 66ers, spanning seven innings, Clark gave up just one unearned run on five hits with one walk and 10 strikeouts. This is his second year in the Angels organization after signing as a Minor League free agent on March 31, 2017.

Clark was released by the Braves prior to the start of the 2017 season. This is the first time he has been promoted to Triple-A in his career.
In a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Joe Gatto has joined the BayBears from Inland Empire. He is scheduled to make his first Double-A start Friday night against the Biloxi Shuckers at Hank Aaron Stadium.
Gatto, 22, went 5-2 with a 4.15 ERA in nine starts with Inland Empire. He has a 20-23 record with a 4.57 ERA in 74 games, 70 starts, over five professional seasons. The Hammonton, N.J., native was selected in the second round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of St. Augustine Preparatory School in Richland, N.J. He is currently the No. 26 prospect in the Angels organization, according to MLB Pipeline.
