Scivicque, Allard claim weekly honors

PEARL, MS --  Catcher Kade Scivicque  and LHP Kolby Allard  have been named Mississippi Farm Bureau Player and Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Sunday, May 7. Scivicque, 24, collects the honor for the second consecutive week. This week he posted a .421 batting average (8-for-19) in six games with the M-Braves.

PEARL, MS --  Catcher Kade Scivicque  and LHP Kolby Allard  have been named Mississippi Farm Bureau Player and Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Sunday, May 7.
 
Scivicque, 24, collects the honor for the second consecutive week. This week he posted a .421 batting average (8-for-19) in six games with the M-Braves. The catcher is hitting .343 (.462 against southpaws) through 20 games with the Double-A club this season. A native of Baton Rouge, LA, Scivicque was acquired by the Braves from Detroit along with Mike Aviles on August 16, 2016, in exchange for Erick Aybar. He was hitting .282 through 106 games at High-A Lakeland at the time of the trade last season.
 
Allard, 19, tossed six shutout innings, surrendering just three hits while striking out 11 batters in his start against the Barons Thursday. The southpaw is 2-1 with a 1.36 ERA in six starts for the Double-A Braves this season. He went 8-3 with a 2.98 ERA in 16 starts between R-Danville and Low-A Rome last year. Allard ranked fifth among all Braves farmhands in starters ERA and ranked tied for seventh in wins last season. A native of San Clemente, CA, Allard was selected by the Braves in the first round of the 2015 draft.
