PEARL, MS --  Catcher Kade Scivicque  and LHP Max Fried  have been named Mississippi Farm Bureau Player and Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Sunday, April 30.
 
Scivicque, 24, posted a .429 batting average (6-for-14) in four games with the M-Braves during the week. He also blasted his first home run of the season Saturday night at Trustmark Park. The catcher is hitting .314 (.455 against southpaws) through 14 games with the Double-A club this season. A native of Baton Rouge, LA, Scivicque was acquired by the Braves from Detroit along with Mike Aviles on August 16, 2016, in exchange for Erick Aybar. He was hitting .282 through 106 games at High-A Lakeland at the time of the trade last season.
 
Fried, 23, worked seven shutout innings and picked up the win at Montgomery on April 25. He held the Biscuits to just one hits and a walk while striking out six batters. Fried is 1-2 with a 4.58 ERA in four starts for the Double-A Braves this season. The southpaw was 8-7 with a 3.93 ERA in 21 games with the Rome club last season. He also ranked among Braves farmhands in wins (t-7th, 8) and strikeouts (t-9th, 112). The Braves No. 10 prospect as ranked by Baseball America was originally a first round pick by the Padres in 2012 but was acquired by the Braves via trade as part of the Justin Upton deal in December 2014.
