Tyler Davis named Texas League Pitcher of the Week

Davis threw a complete-game, three-hit shutout Tuesday at San Antonio to garner the league-wide recognition. It was the first nine-inning outing by a Riders pitcher in more than six years. For Davis, Tuesday's gem was just the latest chapter in a dominant run through the Texas League for the 24-year-old righty. Through 10 starts with the Riders, he's 3-2 with a 2.70 ERA. He's permitted no more than one run in seven of his 10 starts.

Davis is slated to start tonight's series finale at Midland, with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m. The Riders return to Dr Pepper Ballpark for the final seven games of the season Tuesday-Monday (Aug. 29-Sept. 4). The Frisco RoughRiders are the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers and play their games at beautiful Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas.
