Internship Opportunities

Are you a motivated college student with a passion for the sports industry? Are you looking for an immersive internship that offers hands-on experience across multiple aspects of running an affiliated professional Minor League Baseball team? Then our internship program is for you!

General Interns will assist with all aspects of game day operations, but have an area of concentration to further develop and hone their skills. This is an ideal position for someone interested in sports event management and wants to gain comprehensive experience in the logistics that make game days happen. You will work directly with management and other key staff members to ensure that fans, partners, and gameday employees have a smooth and enjoyable game day experience.

The concentrations that we will be offering for General Interns are:

  • Sales Fulfillment
  • Community Relations and Promotions
  • Merchandise
  • Production (requires knowledge of Photoshop or similar graphics editor)
  • Ballpark Operations
  • Groundskeeping
  • Food & Beverage

Even though interns will have specific concentrations, their daily assignments may change daily based on operational needs. They will have time spent outside of their concentration on many games in order to help with event execution and learn about other departments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

General Interns will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of event operations. General Interns are required to work all River Bandits home game dates, special events (as needed), and be available for office hours during the weeks when the team is on the road in order to develop the skills taught for this internship.

General Interns will have daily responsibilities outside of their concentration that focus on event preparation for our home games. The duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Setup and breakdown group areas. This includes setting up tables and chairs, putting linens on tables and setting up tents.
  • Tarp pulls.
  • Restocking and cleaning of the team store.
  • Moving of promotional items, and any set-up related to that night’s game promotion.
  • Pregame cleaning of the ballpark including: cleaning windows and countertops, sweeping and mopping.
  • Postgame cleaning of the ballpark including: picking up trash, blowing the stands and sweeping.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Sports Management, Event Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and solve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Availability to work all River Bandits game days and special events (as needed).
  • Additional requirements may be asked when discussing concentration for this internship.
