Fans Come Out in Full Force in the Finale while Aces Drop Series to Sugar Land

RENO, Nev. –The Reno Aces (12-14) completed their final homestand in the season’s opening month, by dropping five games against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys (19-8), the Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros.

The BLC-Nine managed to secure a significant victory over Sugar Land during their six-game series, dominating with a 19-6 win on Wednesday night. The standout performances came from Andres Chaparro and Adrian Del Castillo, who both tallied five hits each. Chaparro's exceptional performance was a highlight, going 5-for-6 with four doubles and driving in three runs. On the pitching side, starter Humberto Castellanos delivered an efficient outing, conceding four runs on six hits across 5.2 innings of work, and striking out three batters.

Despite the challenging series, Kolten Wong displayed exceptional performance at the plate for the Reno Aces. The 33-year-old went 9-for-20 (.450) with one double and led the team with six runs batted in. Wong showcased his consistency with three multi-hit games throughout the series, highlighted by a stellar three-hit, three-RBI performance in the series opener on Tuesday night.

Kyle Garlick continued to impress for the Aces, maintaining a high batting average of .440 with one home run and driving in four runs. His standout performance was not just about power, but also about plate discipline. He led the Aces with five walks, showcasing a keen eye and reaching base at a stellar .533 clip throughout the series. Garlick's combination of plate discipline and power makes him a formidable threat for opponents to contend with moving forward.

Aces fans came out in full force in the series finale, with a game attendance of 7,111, which was the highest-attended game in April since 2015.

The Aces travel south to take on their Silver State rivals, the Las Vegas Aviators, Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, in a seven-game series beginning on Tuesday, April 30. First pitch for the series opener is scheduled at 7:05 p.m. PT.
