Tacoma, WA – Deyvison De Los Santos and Andrés Chaparro showcased their prodigious power in a 9-6 Reno Aces (29-33) loss to the Tacoma Rainiers (34-28) Saturday night at Cheney Stadium.

De Los Santos, who entered with 15 homers in just 54 games between Double A Amarillo and Reno, saved his most impressive show for the biggest crowd this week. The 20-year-old pulverized two baseballs in his first two at-bats of the night, combining the two for nearly 1,000 feet of majestic flies.

Chaparro drove in two on a pair of doubles, his 17th and 18th two baggers of the season. He’s knocked in 44 runs for Reno after posting a career high 89 RBI in 137 games for Triple A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2023. Chaparro has four extra-base hits in the series, including three doubles and a homer.

Cristian Mena struck out seven over 5 2/3 innings, bouncing back from his toughest start of the year against Salt Lake last Sunday. In just his age-21 season, he’s punched out 70 PCL hitters through his first 13 starts as a member of the Diamondbacks organization.

Reno and Tacoma will conclude this six game series Sunday afternoon at 1:35 p.m. PT from Cheney Stadium. In a rematch from Tuesday, Tommy Henry (RNO) is set to face off against Dallas Keuchel (TAC).
