Sugar Land, TX – Andy Weber’s first Triple-A home run was as impactful as it gets, a go-ahead two-run seventh inning shot in a come from behind win for the Reno Aces (39-28, 74-68) over the Sugar Land Space Cowboys (40-27, 89-53) Saturday night at Constellation Field.

Humberto Castellanos, who has shredded the PCL the entire second half, once again shined on one of the biggest stages of the season. With Reno closing in on a clinch for the playoffs, he delivered six innings of two run ball with seven strikeouts on the road against Triple A’s top club. He continuously kept Sugar Land off balance with a deep mix of weaponry.

Bryson Brigman doubled on the first pitch of the sixth before Tim Tawa drove him in with a slashed run scoring knock. Tawa kept it rolling with yet another homer in the eighth to push Reno’s lead to two. The Stanford product has been simply exceptional with nine home runs since his promotion from Double-A Amarillo on August 20th. Tawa, Brigman, and Jorge Barrosa each had multi-hit nights.

Reno’s bullpen was outstanding in a third straight victory. José Castillo has fired three scoreless innings in the series after a squeaky clean frame in the seventh. Scott McGough closed it out with a six out save. Reno’s pitching staff has held Sugar Land to a combined four runs in the last three wins.
