<o:p> Blaser joins the RiverDogs after a solid first season in Short Season with Staten Island. He played in 55 games and hit .223 with seven doubles, two home runs and 21 RBI. In addition to outfield, Blaser made the majority of his Staten Island starts at first base (23).
Born in Roseville, Calif, Blaser spent time with the Titans following a successful stint at Roseville High School. Blaser, 23, was drafted by the Yankees in the 8th round of the 2016 draft and spent his first season with Staten Island.
While attending Cal State Fullerton, Blaser had a solid baseball career. In his two seasons, he hit .329/.408/.452 with four home runs and 45 RBI in 100 games played. During his senior year he was awarded the Big West Position Player of the Year award.
<o:p> Blaser comes from a family that has baseball in their blood. His father Mark played minor league baseball for six seasons, including five in the Yankees organization. He reached as high as Double-A in his career. Mark had seen action in the SAL from 1982-83 with the Greensboro Hornets.
