JOB SUMMARY:

Join the Rochester Red Wings as an Innovative Field Security Officer, a role central to the safety and security of our ballpark events, properties, employees, tenants, and fans. The position requires flexibility in work hours to accommodate the varying needs of the job, always with an unwavering focus on fan safety and customer service.

In this exciting role, you'll not only ensure the safety and security of Innovative Field, but you'll also interact with our dedicated staff and enthusiastic fans. Your duties will include enforcing Major League Baseball (MLB) security guidelines, ensuring adherence to safety standards by all within the stadium. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Professional and courteous interactions with fans, employees, and guests.
  • Screening event attendees and upholding the Fan Conduct Policy.
  • Maintaining a visible presence during all assigned events.
  • Inspecting bags of approved sizes for entry into events.
  • Monitoring access points in stadium and property to permit entry only to individuals with proper ticketing, identification or authorization.
  • Authorizing entrance through verification of credentials to ensure the safety and security of the facility.
  • Locking and unlocking doors before and after events as directed.
  • Operating security vehicles for patrol and responding to calls/incidents.
  • Conducting investigations into all incidents, accidents, and security issues impacting the facility or organization’s interest, employees, partners, fans, and guests.
  • Monitoring security/alarm systems, working communication equipment, and reporting any facility system issues during assigned shifts.
  • Responding to fire and medical emergencies, providing assistance, and alerting first responders when necessary.
  • Escorting employees and visitors into designated areas.
  • Performing security patrols on all stadium property, including the parking lot.
  • Managing access/gate controls throughout the stadium property.
  • Directing pedestrian traffic at the gates and providing crowd control.
  • Providing security to players and officials by monitoring activity on and around stadium property.
  • Issuing and checking all credentials in accordance with MLB policies to control access to restricted areas.
  • Cooperating with all event staff, third-party vendors, and first responders.
  • Responding to calls as needed, calling in safety concerns, and completing visual inspections while observing occurrences in patrolled areas.
  • Reporting and documenting all incidents on stadium property.
  • Includes baseball and non-baseball events at Innovative Field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a valid New York State Security License.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma
  • Ability to perform one or more of the following activities in an eight-hour shift: walk, stand, climb stairs/ladder, ride a bicycle, turn a pressurized water valve (fire system), bend over to lock/unlock doors.
  • Certified or the ability to be certified in first aid, CPR, and AED training is strongly preferred.
  • Eyesight correctable to 20/20.
  • Ability to project a professional image and maintain a customer-friendly service atmosphere.
  • Good driving record.
  • Ability to follow complex instructions and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must possess sound judgment, objectivity, dependability, emotional control, and professionalism while carrying out duties.
  • Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions to include extreme heat, cold, and rain.

Job Title: Grounds Crew

About the Role:

The grounds crew member will be a part of the Rochester Red Wings' team maintaining the pristine condition of Innovative Field. You will be responsible for maintaining the grounds of the field, which hosts 75 Minor League Baseball games, numerous high school baseball games, concerts, camps, corporate events as well as other special events each year.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily field maintenance and mowing of the sand-based Kentucky bluegrass playing field.

  • Perform repairs to mound and plate areas.

  • Aid in infield maintenance.

  • Undertake tasks including sodding, aerating, and topdressing.

  • Pull tarps and prepare the field during inclement weather.

  • Support setup and teardown for batting practices and special events.

  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the exterior of the building, concourse, suite areas, and other areas surrounding the field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interest in grounds, field/turf management.

  • Ability to work long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. with ease.

  • Willingness to operate necessary turf equipment with provided training.

  • Highly motivated individuals interested in working in baseball long term.
