__NOTES__
Peralta Continues to Deal: Freddy Peralta made his third start of the season today in game one of the doubleheader for the Sky Sox. Coming into today he was 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA. While Peralta surrendered his first two runs of the season today to the Round Rock Express, raising his ERA to 1.13, he picked up his third win in as many starts, as well as his first quality start. In total Peralta threw six innings, allowing two runs on seven hits, striking out seven Express batters and walking just one.
Fear Not the Southpaw: With the win in game one over Round Rock's left-hander David Hurlbut, the Sky Sox are now 3-0 versus left-handed starters this season.
Double Duty: Today was the third traditional doubleheader completed in the first ten Sky Sox games and it's the quickest to complete three traditional doubleheaders to start a season. During the 1996 season, the Sky Sox completed three traditional doubleheaders in the first eleven games of the season. The 1997 season was the only season where four traditional doubleheaders were completed in April 1997. There were three other seasons where the Sky Sox played two traditional doubleheaders and a "modified doubleheader" in April. (A "modified doubleheader" involves the completion of a suspended game, followed by the regularly scheduled game afterwards on the same day.) Those instances: 1999 - One "modified DH" + two traditional DH in first 20 games (3-3 in the 3 DH's), 9-11 to start the season, 2002 - One "modified DH" + two traditional DH in first 16 games (1-5 in the 3 DH's), 7-9 to start the season, and 2004 - Two traditional DH + one "modified DH" in first 16 games (3-3 in the 3 DH's), 9-7 to start the season.
Swiper No Swiping: The Sky Sox are now 15 for 18 on stolen base attempts so far this season.
Holding Down the Fort: Left-hander
Versus Round Rock: The Sky Sox only won four of 12 games played against the Express last season, with an additional three games being cancelled due to weather in the last month of the season. The Sky Sox were 20-24 all-time at home against Round Rock coming into this series.
