Spokane Supplies the Fireworks in 11-9 Win over Frogs

Spokane, Wash. - Benny Montgomery collected four hits and Connor Van Scoyoc tossed six solid innings as the Indians topped the AquaSox, 11-9, in front of a sellout crowd of 6,812 fans at Avista Stadium for 4th of July Fireworks presented by R'nR RV Center and KREM 2. Spokane improved to 5-5 in the second half and 38-37 overall with the win.

TOP PERFORMERS

Benny Montgomery matched a season-high with four hits - including his fifth home run of the season - while adding two RBI, one stolen base, and four runs scored.

Right-hander Connor Van Scoyoc (5-4) struck out six and allowed three earned over six efficient innings to pick up his first win with Spokane after being acquired by the Rockies in the Mike Moustakas deal.

Jordan Beck's two-run homer in the sixth - his league-leading 19th - ended up providing the final margin for Spokane. The former Tennessee Volunteer finished 2-for-5 with two RBI to increase his NWL-best mark to 68 runs driven in this season.

Zach Kokoska notched three base knocks while Sterlin Thompson and Juan Guerrero each had a pair of hits in the win.

AROUND THE NORTHWEST LEAGUE

Four Eugene pitchers combined on a no-hitter in the Emeralds (39-37) 3-0 win over Tri-City (37-39).

Alex De Jesus hit for the cycle and drove in seven runs in Vancouver's (45-30) 8-2 triumph over Hillsboro (28-48).
