Smokies Take Down Barons

The Tennessee Smokies beat the Birmingham Barons 4-2 on Saturday and will be going for the series split on Sunday.

Connor Noland (5-3) tossed six strong innings for Tennessee and retired 14 of the last 15 batters he faced. Blake Weiman, Cam Sanders and Eduarniel Nunez combined to record the final nine outs for Tennessee.

Offensively, the game winning hit was a double by William Simoneit that scored two in the sixth inning. Felix Stevens and Josh Rivera also had RBIs in the game.

The two teams will meet for the series finale on Sunday at 4 p.m. CT.
