Troy Sieber gave the River Bandits (73-51 overall, 36-20 second half) the lead with a two-out solo homer in the top of the first inning.

In the third inning, Wisconsin starting pitcher Victor Diaz retired the first two batters he faced and got ahead of Sieber with two quick strikes before issuing a walk. Diaz hit the next batter to put two runners on base. Josh Rojas cracked a three-run homer to center and the River Bandits were up 4-0. Rojas has eight RBI in this series with the Rattlers.

The River Bandits padded their lead with four runs in the fourth inning. Ronnie Dawson singled to knock in the first run of the inning. Diaz had two outs, but couldn't find the third out as he hit a batter and walked another to load the bases. Rodrigo Benoit took over for Diaz and gave up a three-run double to Daz Cameron for an 8-0 lead.

Quad Cities put the game well out of reach in the fifth against Benoit. A leadoff walk and a pair of one-out singles loaded the bases. Benoit got the second out, but gave up a long homer to Chuckie Robinson. The grand slam gave the River Bandits a 12-0 advantage.

Kit Scheetz, the starting pitcher for the River Bandits, allowed four hits and struck out six over five scoreless innings.

The Timber Rattlers (51-73, 25-31) loaded the bases in the bottom of the sixth inning against River Bandits reliever Cristian Javier, who walked three in the frame. However, the Rattlers left the bases loaded in the sixth and still trailed 12-0.

Robinson greeted reliever Miguel Sanchez with a leadoff double in the top of the eighth inning. Sieber drove in Robinson with a single to make the score 13-0.

Demi Orimoloye broke up the shutout bid with a long three-run home run - with two outs - in the bottom of the eighth. Orimoloye's blast was his eleventh of the season. But, that was a close as the Rattlers would get.

In the second half Western Division Wild Card race, the Peoria Chiefs defeated the Clinton LumberKings 2-0. The Chiefs are now 30-26 in the second half. The Rattlers trail the Chiefs by five games with fourteen games remaining in the season.

The final game of the series is Monday afternoon. Carlos Herrera (2-1, 3.38) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. Yohan Ramirez (3-5, 4.50) is set to start for the River Bandits. Game time is 12:05pm.
