The Tulsa Drillers came out of the gate fast, scoring a pair of early runs against the Corpus Christi Hooks on Saturday night. But the first inning runs were all the Drillers were able to put together, as they were defeated 7-2 in the middle game of the three-game set.
The Drillers quickly got the scoring started in the top of the first.
In each of the seventh and eighth innings, the Drillers were able to get the first two runners aboard with no outs in the inning. In both innings, hard ground balls to the third baseman resulted in double plays and the Drillers were unable to score.
After Corpus Christi added a run in the seventh, the Hooks put the game away an inning later.
