Corpus Christi's second-half dominance over the Tulsa Drillers continued Tuesday night with a 10-6 victory at ONEOK Field. The Hooks, who own the best record in the Texas League, have now won all four meetings between the two teams in the second half of the season.
With the loss, the Drillers saw their first-place lead over Arkansas trimmed to just 2½ games.
The Hooks built a big early lead by scoring in each of the first four innings. They pounded eight hits and took advantage of three Tulsa errors to build an 8-0 lead through the first four frames. One of the hits was a solo home run by
Tulsa made things interesting with four more runs in the sixth that cut the Corpus Christi lead to 8-5.
The Hooks ended Tulsa's hopes of a comeback with two more runs in the eighth.

Both teams wore their Hispanic Heritage uniforms in the game as part of Minor League Baseball's "Copa de la Diversión," or "Fun Cup" series. The game was officially a matchup between Los Petroleros de Tulsa and the Corpus Christi Raspas. Raspas are frozen treats that are popular in south Texas.
Ruiz finished with two hits in five at-bats and picked up four runs batted in a game for the third time this season.
