WICHITA, Kan.—The Wichita Wind Surge gathered a 6-1 win over the Springfield Cardinals at Riverfront Stadium. While scoring all six of their runs in the middle innings, the piggyback role worked to perfection in the contest, which evened the series 2-2.
Matt Lloyd swiftly slotted a single the other way to left field to bring in Michael Siani from third for a Cardinals run in the top of the first. Marco Raya ultimately stranded two runners in scoring position after forcing an infield putout.
After a successful rundown kept the game within one run for Wichita in the top of the third, Aaron Sabato lofted an RBI single out to right field after a balk put a pair of runners in scoring position in the bottom of the fourth.
