Wilmington, DE - As the Major League Baseball All-Star Festivities continue this weekend, the Wilmington Blue Rocks will be having a flash ticket sale to honor former Blue Rock Mike Moustakas , who will be participating in the Home Run Derby Monday night. Additionally, he won the "Final Vote" as fans voted for the 2009 Blue Rocks third baseman to represent the Kansas City Royals in the mid-summer classic on Tuesday, July 11 at Marlins Park in Miami, FL.

A dime per dinger, every home run "Moose" hits during the Home Run Derby will knock 10 cents off the price for reserve box seats for the Saturday, July 15 game when the Lynchburg Hillcats come to Frawley Stadium. The online-only ticket special will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning and applies to just the Saturday contest which starts at 7:05 p.m., as the first 1,000 fans through the gates at 6:00 p.m., will receive a Blue Rocks Boonie Cap courtesy of the Delaware Lottery.
Moustakas (Blue Rock in 2009) becomes just the third former Blue Rock to partake in the Home Run Derby. Wil Myers (2010) participated in last year's competition as a member of the San Diego Padres, while Carlos Beltrán (1997-98) took part in the derby in 2012 while playing with the St. Louis Cardinals. Moustakas finished the first half of the season hitting .270 with 25 home runs and 54 RBI. The 25 homers are the most by any Royals' hitter, and tied for fifth-most in all of Major League Baseball this season. This will be his second All-Star appearance in his career, with his first coming in 2015, the season the Royals won the World Series.
The Blue Rocks return to Frawley Stadium to begin a seven-game homestand on Wednesday, July 12 when they welcome in the Lynhcburg Hillcats to town for a four-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. and fans can listen to the game on 89.7 WGLS-FM with Matt Janus and Cory Nidoh. Fans can purchase tickets at www.bluerocks.com or by calling the box office at 302-888-2583.
