GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers scored five times in the bottom of the second inning of Wednesday's game against the Clinton LumberKings at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. It was just enough for the Rattlers to pick up a 5-4 win.
Wisconsin (5-14) had their biggest inning of the season when they scored five runs in the bottom of the second against Clinton starter Nick Wells. Nick Roscetti drove in the first run of the inning with a sacrifice fly. Later in the frame, Tristen Lutz and Pat McInerney had consecutive two-run singles and the Rattlers were up 5-0.

Dylan File, who struggled through the first inning against the LumberKings offense, found his footing in the second inning and cruised through the fifth.

But, the LumberKings (11-5) found the range on File - with a little help - from the Wisconsin defense in the top of the sixth. File got the first out of the inning before giving up a single to Joseph Rosa. Dimas Ojeda was next and he sent a high fly to the track in left. Lutz appeared to have trouble tracking the ball off the bat and tripped when he turned to run back. The ball dropped on the track for a single to put two runners on with one out.

File got the second out with a strikeout, but couldn't get out of the inning. Jack Larsen cracked a three-run home run to left to pull the LumberKings to within two runs. Larsen has seven RBI in the first three games in this series.

The next two batters reached base on a double and a walk and that was all for File as he left with runners on first and second. Joaqu
ín De La Cruz entered the game and gave up a single up the middle to Greifer Andrade. Roscetti made a diving stop in the outfield and fired to the plate to cut down the runner trying to score from second for the final out.

Clinton got to within a run in the top of the ninth when Louis Boyd his a leadoff homer to left against Gabe Friese. Then, Rosa drew a walk with one out in the ninth, but the Rattlers defense slammed the door by turning a game-ending 4-6-3 double play.

Wisconsin's offense had eight hits in the game with only one coming after the second inning. It didn't matter for the Rattlers as they picked up their second straight win.

The final game of the series is Thursday afternoon at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Christian Taugner (0-2, 4.50) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. Tommy Romero (1-1, 1.76) is set to start for the LumberKings. Game time is 12:05pm.
