GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Peoria Chiefs defeated the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 6-2 on Saturday afternoon at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Irving Lopez went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a homer, and two RBI to lead the Chiefs to the win.
Peoria (10-10) scored four times in the top of the second inning to take the lead. Juan Yepez started the inning with a walk. Dennis Ortega doubled with one out to send Yepez home for the first run of the game. Nick Plummer was next and he tripled off the wall in center to get Yepez across the plate. An error on the play also allowed Plummer to score for a 3-0 lead.

The Chiefs capped their four-run second inning with an RBI double by Lopez.

Wisconsin (6-16) cut into the deficit in the bottom of the third. Payton Henry doubled to start the frame. Joantgel Segovia smacked a single with one out to drive in Henry and the Rattlers were within three.

Peoria tacked on single runs in the fourth and fifth innings. Jonatan Machado drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Then, Lopez struck with a solo home run in the fifth inning and Peoria had a 6-1 lead.

Demi Orimoloye and Gilbert Lara combined to get the Rattlers another run with a two-out rally. Orimoloye doubled and took third on a wild pitch. Lara followed with a single to right-center to drive in Orimoloye, but that was the final run of the game.

Wisconsin had nine hits in the game, but their rallies were stymied by the Chiefs defense. Peoria turned four inning-ending double plays to kill Timber Rattlers rallies in the first, second, fifth, and ninth innings.

Tristen Lutz and Nick Roscetti both had two hits in the game for the Rattlers.

The final game of the series - and Wisconsin's homestand - is Sunday afternoon. Nelson Hernández (2-2, 6.88) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. Peoria has named Winston Nicacio (0-0, 4.91) as their starter. Game time is 1:05pm.
The Timber Rattlers players and coaches will wear their new Brewers Sunday jerseys for the first time in 2018 during the game.

Sunday's game also features a Domingo Santana bobblehead giveaway. The first 1,000 fans to attend the game will receive a bobblehead of the current Milwaukee outfielder courtesy of Ansay & Associates.
