GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Peoria Chiefs defeated the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 6-2 on Saturday afternoon at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium.
Peoria (10-10) scored four times in the top of the second inning to take the lead.
The Chiefs capped their four-run second inning with an RBI double by Lopez.
Wisconsin (6-16) cut into the deficit in the bottom of the third.
Peoria tacked on single runs in the fourth and fifth innings.
Wisconsin had nine hits in the game, but their rallies were stymied by the Chiefs defense. Peoria turned four inning-ending double plays to kill Timber Rattlers rallies in the first, second, fifth, and ninth innings.
