Sod Poodles, Cardinals Scheduled For Twin Bill

Amarillo, Texas (June 3, 2023) – The Amarillo Sod Poodles (22-26) and Springfield Cardinals will continue their six-game series at HODGETOWN with a Saturday evening doubleheader. After Friday's rainout, Amarillo will look to take the series with a win in either game on Saturday.

Winners of five straight, the Sod Poodles will have RHP Chad Patrick on the mound in Game 1 of the twin bill. Fresh off winning Texas League Pitcher of the Week, Patrick boasts a record of 2-1 with a 2.05 ERA in his last five starts.

Adrian Del Castillo currently leads the Texas League with a 10-game hitting streak dating back to May 19. Over his last 10 games, Del Castillo is hitting .406 (13-for-32) with a home run in each of his last two games.

Ryan Bliss has the third-longest active hitting streak in the league at eight games, with Arizona Diamondbacks no. 1-rated prospect Jordan Lawlar right behind him with a seven-game hit streak.

First pitch for Game 1 on Saturday's Pirates and Princess Night is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. with Game 2 starting 35-minutes after the final out of Game 1. Fans with tickets from Friday night's rainout can visit the HODGETOWN Box Office to exchange their tickets for tonight's doubleheader, or any future Sod Poodles game (excluding July 3 and Sept. 16). A single ticket will get fans access to both games on Saturday.
