Regions Field to Host Summer Event Series

Regions Field is excited to announce a new summer event series set to begin next Friday, June 26th. This summer, Regions Field will welcome the over/under 35 baseball teams who will get their chance to play under the bright lights of Regions Field. Every Saturday (except July 4th), until August 1st fans will have the opportunity to partake in Babe Ruff’s Saturday Cinema series, where fans can watch a movie while sitting on the field at Regions Field. Fireworks shows will make their return to Regions Field this summer as well on select dates.
The Barons are excited to bring the City of Birmingham an opportunity to experience new entertainment options at Regions Field in light of the 2020 season delay. The Barons have worked with the Jefferson County Health Department in creating a safety plan implementing new safety requirements and precautions that include social distancing, decreasing Regions Field’s capacity, requiring facemasks worn by all staff and attendees and other adjustments. “In the absence of Barons baseball thus far, we have been working hard so that Regions Field can continue to serve and satisfy the needs of this community in providing fun, safe, affordable entertainment. We believe in hosting these variety of baseball games along with our movies series we hope to fill that need.” said Barons President and General Manager Jonathan Nelson. “In addition to providing much-needed entertainment our goal in hosting these events is to work with the Jefferson County Health Department in creating a safe, effective plan adjusting to immediate COVID-19 requirements and giving the community confidence Regions Field has a plan in place approved by the Jefferson County Health Department.”

Birmingham Metro League Baseball Games:
Over 35 League Games – Starting in July the over 35 Central Alabama Baseball Association will play select games at Regions Field every Thursday night starting on the 9th. These games will be in addition to the Barons SwitchYard operations on Thursday nights. Attendees are encouraged to swing by The Switchyard and play Bingo on Thursday night and stay after to catch a ball game.

Under 35 League Games - Starting next Friday, June 26th fans will have the opportunity to watch teams of the Birmingham Metro Baseball League take the field every Friday (except July 3rd) night until the beginning of August. These games are free to attend, however in accordance with the Jefferson County Health Department Regions Field will have a limited capacity for these games. Fans will have the opportunity to pick up tickets the day prior to the game at the Joe Drake Box Office during business hours (9am – 5pm).

Babe Ruff’s Saturday Cinema:
The Birmingham Barons will begin Babe Ruff’s Saturday Cinema night next Saturday, June 27th. Guests will have the opportunity to sit on the field at Regions Field to watch the movie on the stadium’s videoboard or watch in the seating bowl. No groups larger than five people will be permitted to sit together and all groups will be required to sit a minimum of six feet apart in accordance with local and state physical distancing guidelines.
The Barons will offer three separate ticket packages for Babe Ruff’s Saturday Cinema nights.
VIP Package: $75
· One (1) 10’ x 10’ Space in front of the video board
· Seating for up to five guests (lawn seating)

· $20 Gift Certificate to the Barons Sports Depot
· Access to on-field bar

General Admission: $5
· Seating up to five guests on the first base side of Regions Field
Only 500 tickets will be sold for these nights between the three ticket package options. The title of the movies will be released on Barons.com and the Barons social media platforms in advance of the showing.
No chairs or outside food or drink will be permitted on the grass. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket for their group to sit on. Concession stands will be open during the showing of the movie. Gates will open an hour before each showing.
