Blue Jays ink Gregory Infante
Reliever posted 22 saves for New Hampshire in 2014
The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that they have signed RHP GREGORY INFANTE to a minor league contract with an invitation to MLB spring training.
INFANTE, 27, pitched in five games with the Bisons in 2014, posting a 2-1 record and a 2.35 ERA in 7.2 innings of relief work. He spent the rest of the season with Double-A New Hampshire where he finished second in the Eastern League with 22 saves. In 36 appearances with the Fisher Cats, Infante was 0-1 with a 1.86 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 38.2 innings.
A nine-year pro, Infante appeared in five games for the White Sox in 2010 and did not allow a run in 4.2 innings. The right-hander owns a career 3.63 ERA in 249 minor league contests.
