We also want you to know that we miss you! We miss seeing our ballpark family. We plan all off-season to provide our amazing fans with a fun, exciting ballpark experience at a great value. Having the season canceled before we ever got to hear 'Play Ball' even once is nothing short of a punch in the gut.
Minor League Baseball has announced that the 2020 season for all of its clubs, including the Buffalo Bisons, has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The 2020 season, which was scheduled to begin for the Bisons on April 9 in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, was slated to be the club's 136th season of professional baseball in Buffalo. This marks the first year since 1978 that the Bisons will not play a professional season.
"Although it may not be surprising given how our world has changed over the last few months, the official news that we will not have baseball at Sahlen Field this summer is heart-breaking," said Mike Buczkowski, President of Rich Baseball Operations. "Not being able to share with our great fans the excitement of Bisons baseball on those beautiful Buffalo summer nights is going to leave an awful void in our entire organization."
The Bisons organization is truly grateful for the patience of all of its fans and partners while the 2020 season was on pause in April, May and June. The entire Bisons Baseball Family hopes that everyone in Western New York and Southern Ontario stays safe and well as we all continue to navigate through these unprecedented times.
For fans holding 2020 Season Ticket, Ticket Packages, Individual Tickets or Group Party Reservations:
The Bisons organization is committed to being as accommodating and flexible as possible, as we value the support of our great fans. All fans will be given the option to apply whatever payment they've made on 2020 tickets to the 2021 season or to receive a refund of their ticket price(s). We ask that all refund requests be made by August 1, 2020.
PLEASE NOTE, all 2020 Buffalo Bisons Ticket buyers will receive direct communication from the Bisons organization in the next few days with information on how to choose either option.
Additionally,
1. Bisons Season Ticket Holders who apply their 2020 ticket payments to 2021 will receive $50 in additional concession dollars per seat that they own. All existing 2020 concession dollars will also be honored during the 2021 season.
2. Fans holding Suite/Party Deck/Party reservations that apply their 2020 payments to 2021 will be given the chance to choose their 2021 date(s) prior to those areas going on sale for the upcoming season.
Fans with additional questions or concerns are encouraged to email the Bisons at [email protected] or call at (716) THE-HERD.

Where is the best place to find updates about the season?
We will continue to update this page on Bisons.com with any new information that becomes available. You can also follow us on our social media channels (@BuffaloBisons) for updates as well.
When will the Bisons season start?
Due to Major League Baseball's decision to delay start of the season due to COVID-19, there is no official start date for the Buffalo Bisons regular season at this time. At this time, all that we know is we will not be opening the season on April 9 in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre as planned.
How will the Bisons schedule be adjusted for the 2020 season?
Until we learn more about when we can start the 2020 season, we won't be able to determine the effects this delay will have on the rest of the scheduled games in 2020.
I have tickets to Opening Day or another game in April, what do I do?
For now, we ask that you just hang onto any tickets, ticket packages or ticket certificates for the 2020 season that you have. This situation is fluid for now and we are working on plans to handle all ticket inquiries and will communicate that on this webpage and on our social media channels. If you have any additional questions regarding tickets, you can email the Bisons at [email protected]. Please note, the Bisons are proud to have the best sports fans in the world supporting them and we will do right for all our fans that showed their support by purchasing tickets in advance for the upcoming season.
What about my group outing/suite rental?
If you have a party reservation at this time, it will still be held for the 2020 season. Your Bisons Account Representative will continue to communicate with you to determine how to best serve your group's needs. If you'd like to reach out to us with questions, please send them to [email protected] and when possible, include your Account Representative's name so that it can be forwarded directly to them..
I bought tickets/season tickets/a ticket package, but have not received them yet. Are they still coming to me?
Don't worry if you don't have your physical tickets as of yet. With the temporary closing of Sahlen Field, we are also delaying the mailing of many of our ticket purchases. As long as you purchased your tickets directly from us (Bisons.com, Tickets.com), we have your order in our system and will get those tickets to you when possible.
If you have any additional questions/concerns, you can always email our general email account at [email protected] and it will be directed to the appropriate department for follow up as soon as possible.
