As the Blue Jays finish up their exhibition schedule in Montreal ahead of their 2019 Opener on Thursday against the Tigers, manager Charlie Montoyo shared and update that could be big news for Bisons fans.
Toronto's new skipper told media members on Tuesday that top prospect
Guerrero has advanced to doing cage work in his return to play program at the team's Spring Training facility and some extra time in Florida may still be needed to get the slugger ready for game action. Montoyo did not give an exact timeline of when he would report to the Bisons or any team in the Blue Jays system.
The Bisons open up the 2019 season on Thursday, April 4 against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders at Sahlen Field (2:05 p.m.). That also starts a seven-game homestand that includes the season's first fridaynightbash! game (April 5, 6:05 p.m.) and Anderson's Kids Weekend on April 6-7 where kids tickets (14 and under) are just $9 at the Sahlen Field Box Office.
