Dragons to Honor Academic All-Star Abby Lamm on August 11

DAYTON, Ohio -- The Dayton Dragons Academic All-Star program presented by Edison State Community College will recognize Abby Lamm as an Academic All-Star prior to the Dragons game on Sunday, August 11 against the Lake County Captains at Day Air Ballpark in the heart of the Water Street District. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 pm.

During Sunday’s pregame festivities, Lamm will be honored on the field and presented with a $1,000 scholarship from the Dayton Dragons Foundation.

Lamm plans to continue her education by obtaining a bachelor’s degree in nursing. In the future, Lamm dreams of becoming a pediatric oncology nurse.

Edison State has given Lamm a monumental head start on her educational goals. Through Edison State’s College Credit Plus program, Lamm was able to complete 17 college classes at no cost to her or her family, all while still being in high school and working part-time.

Lamm is one of five Academic All-Stars the Dragons are recognizing in 2024. Each All-Star is a College Credit Plus Student at Edison State Community College. College Credit Plus (CCP) offers a unique opportunity for students still in high school to enhance and further their educational and career objectives. CCP students can earn college and high school credit concurrently, accelerating their college careers at no cost.
