Dragons to Honor Academic All-Star Ben Terrill on July 2

DAYTON, Ohio -- The Dayton Dragons Academic All-Star program presented by Edison State Community College will recognize Ben Terrill as an Academic All-Star prior to the Dragons game on Tuesday, July 2 against the Lake County Captains at Day Air Ballpark in the heart of the Water Street District. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm.

During Tuesday’s pregame festivities, Terrill will be honored on the field and presented with a $1,000 scholarship from the Dayton Dragons Foundation.

Edison State has played a monumental role in jumpstarting Terrill’s life and career. Through the College Credit Plus program, Terrill amassed over 30 credit hours toward his college degree while still in high school at no cost to him or his family. The flexible class schedule offered by Edison State also allowed Terrill to stay heavily involved in his Boy Scout troop as an Eagle Scout.

This fall, Terrill plans to continue his education at Edison State by pursuing a degree in business entrepreneurship. He dreams of starting an outdoor architectural design company in the future.

Terrill is one of five Academic All-Stars the Dragons are recognizing in 2024. Each All-Star is a College Credit Plus Student at Edison State Community College. College Credit Plus (CCP) offers a unique opportunity for students still in high school to enhance and further their educational and career objectives. CCP students can earn college and high school credit concurrently, accelerating their college careers at no cost.
