Dragons to Recognize Dayton Diaper Depot as Community All-Stars Recipient on Friday

DAYTON, Ohio -- The Dayton Dragons will recognize Dayton Diaper Depot as a Community All-Stars recipient during a special inning break of the Dragons game on Friday, August 30 against the West Michigan Whitecaps at Day Air Ballpark in the heart of the Water Street District. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm.

Dayton Diaper Depot is a volunteer organization that provides diapers to babies in low-income families. The organization is dedicated to improving the health of babies and the economic conditions of families.

One in three families will experience diaper need. Government assistance programs such as SNAP and WIC cannot be used for diapers. Without adequate diapers, babies are not changed as often as needed, leading to chronic health issues. Diapers allow babies to go to daycare and parents to attend school or work.

Dayton Diaper Depot was founded in 2020. With the community’s generous support, the organization has grown every year. Dayton Diaper Depot’s one millionth diaper will be distributed in 2024. The organization administers through partner agencies such as high schools, health clinics, food pantries, and social services in Montgomery and surrounding counties.

Diaper drives are wonderful service projects for businesses or organizations looking to get involved and make a positive impact in the community. Collecting and bundling diapers is a fun and meaningful team building event.
