The Durham Bulls will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Night on Thursday, Aug. 10, when the team will transform into Los Toros de Durham for one night only. The team will wear special uniforms for that night's contest, and the jerseys will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to charity.
In addition to special on-field uniforms, Los Toros will celebrate the evening with player features on the videoboard, special concessions items and live music in the left field plaza. All proceeds from the online jersey auction will benefit El Centro Hispano, a non-profit that advocates for equity and inclusion for Hispanics/Latinos in the Triangle.
"The Triangle's Hispanic community is one that enjoys fun, family experiences," Los Toros General Manager Mike Birling said. "With this celebration, we are looking forward to further strengthening our relationship and making our fans feel welcome and included at our ballpark."
In addition to the festivities planned around the night's events, the 7:05 p.m. game will also feature $1 Concessions, as Bright Leaf Hot Dogs, soda and popcorn will be sold for just $1 all evening long. Fans can purchase tickets to Hispanic Heritage Night here. More details about the jersey auction will be released closer to the date of the game.
