Chihuahuas to Host MLB and MiLB’s PLAY BALL Weekend Saturday, Inspiring Young Fans in the Borderplex

EL PASO – June 11, 2024 – The Chihuahuas are thrilled to announce their participation in Major League Baseball (MLB) and Minor League Baseball (MiLB)’s PLAY BALL Weekend, set to take place on Saturday, June 15 from 9-11 a.m. at Southwest University Park. This event, one of more than 300 MLB and MiLB events scheduled internationally, aims to engage children in the Borderplex community through a morning filled with baseball, excitement, and fun.

Registration is open for children aged five through 12 from the Borderplex for PLAY BALL Weekend. Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged.

The festivities at Southwest University Park will feature clinic rotations designed to introduce newcomers to the joys of baseball and softball. Chihuahuas staff will be on hand to teach fielding, batting, and pitching techniques, providing children with hands-on experience.

This event marks a significant step forward in MLB and MiLB’s efforts to make baseball more accessible and inclusive for all fans. By collaborating with teams like the Chihuahuas, they aim to inspire a new generation of players and fans who will carry the love of the game forward for years to come.
